Story and Plot
Set in pre-Independence era, this story is about Analeesan “Eesa” who used to be a British soldier. In that British Army he is called by the name of Captain Miller. He is on a mission to save his people from the tyranny of the British.
Positive Review
Eesa has been given the name of Miller since joining the British Army. Why did he join the army? For what reason did he leave the army? After all why did he turn against the British? This film is based on the concept of struggle for freedom.
This movie also discusses many issues and the topics of the time period in which they have been added are relevant such as equality, casteism and discrimination. It is well made in technical way also and very good scenes are also seen. The BGM is very top notching and enhances the experience.
Everything has been developed well in the first half and the story progresses slowly. The presentation of the second half is very good. The scenes before the interval are also engaging. The action fight which is gradually introduced in the climax scene is worth watching. The action scenes in that part are well choreographed. The character’s motives are well established.
Dhanush as Analeesan “Easa” / Miller. He has performed with the soul of this character. He has done amazing work in terms of acting. Priyanka Mohan has also acted well in the role of Velmathi.
Shiva Rajkumar has played the role of Sengolan. His cameo is very powerful and strong which elevates the movie very well. Apart from Aditi Balan, Sundeep Kishan, the entire cast has done a good job. Dubbing quality in other languages is also good.
Negative Review
The screenplay could have been a little better because the connection could not be built up easily. The first few minutes of the story may not seem engaging but this is rectified later. There is also a need to have a stronger grip on the storyline.
Technical Review
Director Arun Matheswaran’s work is impressive. He is also its writer. His work is decent in terms of writing. Production values are rich. The work of Music and BGM by G. V. Prakash Kumar is brilliant. Editor Nagooran Ramachandran’s work is good. Cinematographer Siddhartha Nuni’s work is outstanding.

Captain Miller is an action adventure film in which Analeesan “Eesa” struggles and fights against the British. This story is about a person whose painful backstory causes him to become a rebel. Talking about acting, Dhanush has done a very superb job.
