Cirkus film has been released in theatres. This is Rohit Shetty’s comedy film. It is a remake of the 1982 Hindi film Angoor. And Angoor is also a remake of William Shakespeare’s play The Comedy of Errors. Many good actors like Ranveer Singh, Varun Sharma, Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra have worked in it.
Cirkus Movie: Story and Plot
This story starts from 1944. Dr Roy Jamnadas finds 2 pairs of identical twins in the gate of an orphanage. Then the Dr separates both the pairs and gives them to two couples living in two different cities. Both the couples adopt them. Dr Roy’s adoptive brother’s name is Joy.
Both the couples name their identical twins Roy and Joy. The first couple lives in Ooty, Roy 1 and Joy 1’s father works in a circus. The father of Roy 2 and Joy 2 is a big industrialist. Till now both of them do not know that they are two pairs of identical twins. After the death of their father, Roy 1 and Joy 1 run the circus.
Roy 1 has a power due to which electric current does not make any difference to him. But when Roy 1 touches electric current then Roy 2 gets electric shock. It is because of this power of Roy 1 that his circus is famous. Then this story moves forward 30 years. Roy 1’s wife is Mala. Roy 2 is in love with Bindu. Bindu’s father sees Roy 1 and Mala together in Ooty. Because of which they feel that Roy 2 is not a good person. This is its story. Will Roy 2’s love be fulfilled? Will the pair of Roy and Joy be able to meet each other? Now watch this film to know the further story.
Cirkus Movie: Positive and Negative Review
Ranveer Singh has played two characters of Roy in this. It doesn’t seem at all that Ranvir is acting. He is in the lead role in this but perhaps this time he may disappoint the audience. In this, good actors can be seen in small cameos. But these cameos could have been used better.
Comedy can be seen only in some scenes of the second half. An attempt has been made to show that comedy in an exaggerated manner. Its background looks very bright. An attempt has been made to show the 60’s era, but it looks artificial. Its setup may also not look real. Many scenes become so repetitive that the interest in watching them can also be lost. Its songs are okay and enjoyable. Its climax becomes predictable. A social message can also be seen at the end.
The screenplay may seem very weak due to which the audience is not able to connect with it. Rohit Shetty makes mass cinema, which is watched in theaters with the entire family. He keeps comedy on top in his films. But in this film he may fail to make the audience laugh. There can be only a few moments in which fun can be had.
Many old songs of Bollywood have been added to it. Its story may seem so confusing that it doesn’t bother the mind to think. Even after knowing its story, it can be difficult to relate to it.
If we talk about acting, all the actors in it are of the best level. An actor will be able to give his good acting performance only when the screenplay is good. If the actors were used well then this film could have been very engaging.
Sanjay Mishra’s comedy and funny scenes can be liked. He has tried to give his best acting performance. But the acting of Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline may not seem that special.
Its dialogues can also be poor due to which it can also irritate. It cannot be compared with Golamaal. Because entertainment is seen in Golmaal and the entertainment factor may seem missing in this film.
This comedy of errors is based on play. But perhaps an error of comedy can be seen in this. It has a storyline but not a strong story. There is comedy punch but no laughter. Many elements may seem missing in this. This film can only be enjoyed. It depends on how much the audience will enjoy this film. It would be better if it is seen without logic.
Cirkus Movie: Technical Review
Director Rohit Shetty’s direction could have been even better. If a little more effort was put into it then it could have brought a smile to the audience’s face. The screenplay work has been done by Yunus Sajawal. The quality of VFX may also appear low. Loud BGM can irritate in many scenes.
Music is also decent. The music score has been added by Amar Mohile. Jomon T John’s cinematography may seem a bit poor. Its editor is Bunty Nagi. Its production value is also good. Its producers are Rohit Shetty, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar.
Cirkus Movie Review: Conclusion
This is the story of a pair of identical twins, in which Ranveer and Varun Sharma have played dual roles. Due to its weak screenplay, it is not able to engage the audience. The comedy element may seem missing in this. But funny scenes can be seen in some scenes. Dialogue delivery could have been better to impress the audience. This film can be watched sitting with your family.
