Story and Plot
This story is about four friends living in a village in Punjab who dream of going to England. The biggest problem in their life is that neither they have approved visa to go, nor their English is good nor they have tickets. A soldier promises to solve their problems and gets busy in fulfilling their dreams. To fulfill their dreams, he resorts to illegal route instead of legal route. Will the dream of that group of friends be fulfilled? Will they be able to go abroad? Will they face problem in illegal route? The answer to all these questions will be found only in the film Dunki.
Positive Review
After many years, RajKumar Hirani has returned to the big screen with the much awaited film Dunki. The dreams and journey of friendship of four people have been explored. This is an emotional saga and the director has presented the emotion with great detail. The presentation of the emotional portion is heart touching. The screenplay has been handled well so it holds the audience.
There is humor and comedy in the story of the first half and the second half makes the atmosphere completely emotional. There are many such moments where tears may well come to the eyes. This movie also delivers a message which is convincing. Apart from the story being good, its narration is also good which is very engaging. It forces the audience to think about what is going to happen next in the story.
Shah Rukh Khan has played the role of Hardayal Singh Dhillon (Hardy). He leads this movie and his performance is outstanding and commendable. He shines in every frame. The audience was excited to see the combination of him and RajKumar Hirani. It also has many mood swing moments.
Vicky Kaushal has played the role of Sukhi and he charms in this role. Taapsee Pannu delivers a compelling performance as Manu. Apart from Boman Irani, Dia Mirza, Vikram Kochhar, Satish Shah, the entire cast has performed well. It has many good and meaningful songs that contribute to the plot and the BGM takes the scene to the next level. The location is also beautiful.
Negative Review
Rajkumar Hirani has given many best films but something may seem missing in this film. This movie is not able to create impact Like 3 Idiots, PK and Munna Bhai MBBS.
Technical Review
RajKumar Hirani’s direction work is very good. He adds elements like emotion, tragedy, drama and comedy in the right quantities. The plot is very engaging and gripping.
The work of Music Song by Pritam and BGM by Aman Pant is impressive. Rajkumar Hirani’s work is good in terms of editing. Many good cinematographic scenes are seen. Production values are very rich.
Dunki Movie: Conclusion
Dunki is a family entertainer film which has comedy and drama. Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal have delivered satisfactory performances. The story has been kept happy in the first half and emotional in the second half. BGM and music help a lot in enhancing the experience.
