Story and Plot
This story is about an ambitious but untalented home chef named Swathi Shetty. She also dreams of opening a restaurant. But due to a murder, she is unable to achieve her dream. She makes a new plan and replaces her husband with her lover. She also hides some secrets from him. But everything doesn’t go her way and the situation starts deteriorating. A local inspector sets out to solve this mystery and will not stop until then.
Positive Review
The story is about Swathi who is an unprofessional cook and has little magic of taste in her hands. She wanted to open a restaurant but she did not have the support of her husband. The show will reveal the further story. The concept of the plot of this series has been placed in a very brilliant way. The different approach idea of the murder mystery of this show is good.
Director’s touches can also be seen. There are many such moments in it which can be enjoyed. Especially, the element of dark comedy has been handled very well. Sayaji Shinde’s comedy makes you laugh a lot. His scenes have been well paired with Manoj Bajpayee.
Good location has been chosen which gives good vibe. The camera man has presented that beautiful scene well from every angle. BGM is also interesting. Old songs have also been recreated and used which you may like. Innovative work can also be seen in many places.
Konkona Sen Sharma has played the role of Swathi Shetty. She looks very superb in this character. Her screen presence is very strong. She charms the show and gives an excellent acting performance.
Manoj Bajpayee has played the dual role as Prabhakar Shetty and Umesh Shetty. His performance was amazing. You might like the chemistry and bonding between him and KonKona. Apart from talented actor Nassar, Sayaji Shinde, the entire cast has acted well.
Negative Review
Along with the main plot, many sub plots are also seen which can feel stretchy at some moments and increase the length of the episode. The first episode is very entertaining but the interest level seems to be falling in the later episodes. Many scenes feel dragged. The first half is not able to engage that much but the second half is better than that.
More work could have been done with Nassar and his character could also have been made stronger. At some places, abusive words and some bold scenes can also be seen. Climax is good but it can be created more effectively. In some episodes its story even becomes predictable.
Technical Review
Director Abhishek Chaubey’s work seems to be stunting well. He is also its writer. His work is fine in terms of writing. There are many moments which feel lengthy. The sub plot could have been made even better.
Cinematography work by Anuj Rakesh Dhawan is impressive. He has shown many good scenes. BGM and Music are very good. Production value is good. The work of the editors is decent as some parts could have been made better.
Killer Soup: Conclusion
Killer Soup is a crime thriller which depicts the life of a married and untalented home chef. This show adds a new flavor but it may or may not attract every type of audience. The performances of Konkona Sen Sharma and Manoj Bajpayee are impressive.
