Story and Plot
A village is shown in the beginning of the story. There is a death every Tuesday in that village. Villagers relate this murder to an extramarital affair. Police officer Maya starts investigating the murder. Then the villagers come to know very shocking things related to this murder mystery. Why is Tuesday the killer’s favorite day? Will that killer be caught? Who is that murderer? For what reason is he committing murder? The answer to all these will be found in the film.
Positive Review
The girl has a disorder due to which the entire village hates that girl. There is no one to support that girl. The issue of social and physical harassment of the girl has also been covered. Its story has shown many points and the concept of the film is very clear. The setup and background of the village looks very real and natural. The story telling of the 2nd half is fine.
The story was started slowly in the beginning but later the momentum was built up and maintained. Ajay Bhupathi has narrated and presented this story brilliantly. He has also done detailed work on the character design and body language. The story is engaging after the interval. In which there are many twists & turns and many murder suspense. Climax is very interesting and cannot be predicted.
Payal Rajput has portrayed the character of Sailu. Her work is amazing. The way she has expressed Sailu’s love and pain is very real. The emotional moments shown by her define her talent. In the second half, the pain and love of her past life are shown. Ajay Ghosh, Ajmal Ameer, Ravindra Vijay, Sritej have performed their roles well.
Negative Review
Payal Rajput has been introduced and given space in the story late. Nandita Swetha played the role of SI Maaya. She investigates the murder case. Divya Pillai played the role of Zamindar’s wife Rajeshwari Devi. Her role is that of an ideal wife and social worker. The work of both of them is good but their roles could have been made more impactful.
Some vulgar scenes can also be seen in it which could have been handled in a better way. Because of that, the story seems to be going out of its track but later everything becomes fine. Narration may seem weak in the first half. The engaging level could have been maintained even better till the interval. There are many murders and deaths in it but the situation and environment of fear was not created well.
The cameo actor was not introduced that well. Detailing could have been done in creating some scenes. The fight scene of villagers during a function may seem illogical. If some more thrilling had been added to this film, it could have been a lot more fun to watch.
Technical Review
Director Ajay Bhupathi has done a good job in this film. Such topics were presented in a different way and made the 2nd half quite engaging. The first part could have been created more effectively. His work in terms of writing is okay because some scenes in the first part feel boring.
Cinematography by Dasaradi Sivendra is fine. Production value is good. BGM helped a lot in enhancing the thrilling experience. B. Ajaneesh Loknath’s Music and BGM maintained the interest level.
Mangalavaaram Movie: Conclusion
Mangalavaaram is a simple story but many interesting things have been added to it. Because of which its plot is gripping. Payal Rajput has performed her best performances. 1st half is okay but 2nd part is good.
