Will she go against her family’s beliefs and values and become a chef? Will she get separated from her family for her dream? Will she be able to become the best chef? The answer to all these questions will be found only in Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food movie.

Positive Review

A girl wants to become a chef in her life but her family is completely vegetarian. To become a chef, she will have to master cooking non-veg food also. Will she go against the family and become a chef? Its story revolves around food but love angle has also been added to it.

The first half depicts an orthodox family in which a woman faces many challenges to fulfill her dream. A love angle is also shown in the second half and she proves herself to be a chef. The main idea of this film is good and engaging. Apart from its topic, its biggest asset is the actor’s acting.

Nayanthara plays the character of Annapoorani Rangarajan. Lady Superstar has worked to improve her character throughout the film. Her acting is very superb and through this she has also delivered the message of women empowerment.

Jai plays the character of Farhaan. He has also done the job of entertaining with this role. Achyuth Kumar has done a good job in the role of father. Apart from Sathyaraj, K. S. Ravikumar, the supporting cast has done a good job.

Negative Review

Its topic is good but the way its execution is mixed and presented can disappoint. The way in which the family is shown may not seem convincing. The focus has been on women empowerment but at some places it has also been forcefully imposed.

The establishment of Farhaan’s character could also be better. This character could have had a scope but it was not used. Discussion of Veg and Non-Veg topics may seem irrelevant.

At some places the screenplay has not been handled that well. In some portions it may also be seen deviating from its story. This could have been made even more appealing. The power punch of Climax could not satisfy, it could have been made more interesting.

Technical Review

Director Nilesh Krishnaa’s work is decent. He is also its writer. The topic of this film could have been better if its execution could have been better. Music by Thaman S is decent. Praveen Anthony’s work is okay in terms of editing. Cinematography work by Sathyan Sooryan is fine. Production values are decent.

Annapoorani Movie: Conclusion

Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food is a drama film which shows the journey of a girl to become a chef. In which the topic of women empowerment has also been covered. The theme of the story is good but its presentation is okay. There are some moments which could have been made memorable. But the acting of the actors is very amazing.
