Story and Plot
The story shows Vyra Vasundhara who divorces Satyam and marries Rao Ramesh. Due to some reason, she abandons her son Veera Venkata Ramana at the age of 10 and separates him from her family. She is the most powerful minister of that state and her father is Venkata Swamy. To ensure victory in the upcoming elections, his father Venkata wants Ramana to sign a paper declaring that he has no relation with his mother. He is put under pressure to sign this paper. Will Ramana sign this paper? Why did his mother push him away from her? The answer to this will be found only in Guntur Kaaram.
Positive Review
Mahesh Babu has played the character of Venkata Ramana. He leads the show and charms the entire film. He captivated the audience with his performance and style. A new energy of his is seen in action scenes and songs.
Ramya Krishnan has played the character of Vasundhara. Despite having limited screen presence, she delivered commendable performance. Sreeleela’s dance moves and acting were good. Her and Mahesh’s songs and romantic scenes were gripping.
Prakash Raj played the character of Vasundhara’s father Venkata Swamy. Once again he has acted very well. The bond and chemistry between her and Mahesh Babu raises the interest level.
Apart from Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jayaram, Jagapathi Babu, the performance of the cast was fine. There are many such comedy moments in it which make the audience laugh.
Negative Review
Story is fine but it could have been made even better. As the story progresses, its narration appears to be becoming weak. The storyline could have been made stronger and presented. The screenplay could have been tightened a bit. There are some emotional scenes in it which do not make the atmosphere emotional due to which the interest level may also go down.
The beginning was good but by the interval the engagement rate may be low in the 1st half. But some things are improved again in the second half. Routine action drama can also be seen in this part. The maker needs to strengthen the storytelling, focus on the script and hold on to the screenplay and all these things do not contribute to the plot.
It has many brilliant actors like Meenakshii Chaudhary, Rahul Ravindran, Jagapathi Babu, whose talent and skills could have been utilized better to enhance the entertaining experience. Due to lack of all this, engaging factor effect occurs.
Technical Review
Director Trivikram Srinivas’s work is okay and he is also its writer. He could have made this story more interesting because due to weak narration it would have been difficult to build a connection. He could not create impact with his works.
Music and BGM are okay. Navin Nooli’s work on editing is decent as scenes at some places could have been removed. Cinematography work by Manoj Paramahamsa is impressive and production value is rich.
Guntur Kaaram: Conclusion
Guntur Kaaram movie is an action drama film in which Ramana is forced and pressurized to break all relations with his mother. Due to weak screenplay and narration of the story, the overall experience is affected. But Mahesh Babu’s tremendous acting won the hearts of the audience.
