Story and Plot
The story begins in 1990’s Varanasi where a young woman named Kaali has recently become a widow. On the other hand, a transgender named Chaandi is shown who lives in the transgender community. Chandi does not like to live this kind of life at all. The turn in the story comes when Kaali and Chandi start enjoying spending time and being with each other. Will their relationship be successful? Will Kaali be able to know Chandi’s background? The answer to all these questions will be found only in the Safed movie.
Positive Review
This story is about a widow woman and transgender. Shows the struggles and problems of both their lives. In search of peace in life, both of them meet and think of taking this relationship forward. They have to make many sacrifices for their love. Will society accept their love? Its story is different compared to other films.
Abhay Verma has played the character of Transgender Chandi. He is excellent in presenting every single point of this character and his acting performance is amazing. His emotional scenes work in the film’s favor.
Meera Chopra has played the role of widowed woman Kaali. Her role is that of an innocent girl in which she fits perfectly. Her acting may look good. Jameel Khan’s performance was decent. Apart from Barkha Bisht, Chhaya Kadam, the work of the supporting cast was decent.
The way attempts have been made to present this concept may seem good. You may like its music which has many soulful songs. BGM score is also interesting. There are many emotional scenes and the climax part can definitely be emotional.
Negative Review
The concept of the story is good but its execution may not be that good. It requires depth and the establishment of the bond between the characters may not seem convincing.
The way this topic has been handled may seem poor. The points of transgender and widow have been shown which could have been shown better. The message could have been delivered better by making it a little longer.
Technical Review
Director Sandeep Singh’s work is decent. He is also its writer. He has chosen a good story and concept but he missed in presenting some points. The depth of the story and character could also have been covered.
Music and BGM score made some scenes very engaging. In terms of editing, the work of Rajesh Pandey and Rahul Reniwal is okay. Cinematography work by Anirban Chatterjee is decent. Production values are decent.

Safed is a drama film which covers the lives of transgender and widowed women. The relation between the two has been presented. The concept of the story is engaging but it needs depth. There are many emotional scenes which are gripping. The work of Abhay Verma and Meera Chopra is commendable.
