Story and Plot
This story is about 7 year old Yaman Shastry who lives with his grandfather Manohar and grandmother. Manohar is a music teacher. Yaman is the most loved one of his grandfather and grandmother and he loves them very much. His parents meet him on weekends. Yaman’s father Malhar would have got a chance to relocate and pursue a career in the US. He does not want to lose this opportunity so he wants to go to US with his wife and son Yaman.
But Manohar is not ready to send his grandson Yaman away from him. Due to this, rift starts in the family. Will Malhar be able to go to US with his son? Will Yaman stay in his ancestral home with his grandfather and grandmother? The answer to this will be found only in Shastry Virudh Shastry movie.
Positive Review
A boy named Yaman lives with his grandfather and grandmother and his parents live in a city far away from them. His parents want to take him away from his grandparents to the US but his grandfather does not agree to it. That’s why he would file a case in the court for the real guardian. In this film, the issues have been shown and explained correctly from both sides.
The emotions and feelings of parents and grandparents have been well justified and presented. There are many such moments in the court room drama of the second half which can bring tears to the eyes. The way the special bond between grandfather and grandson has been explored is very gripping. The care, love, emotion and pain of the grandparents towards their grandchildren are shown correctly.
The social message of importance of family and unity has also been delivered. The way the character’s establishment and atmosphere have been created is brilliant. It is a remake of the 2017 Bengali film “Posto”.
Paresh Rawal has played the character of Manohar Shastry. He acted very well in this character. His speech in the climax part can be very emotional. Kabir Pahwa’s performance in the role of Yaman is superb. Neena Kulkarni, Shiv Panditt, Mimi Chakraborty have also done amazing acting.
Negative Review
The story is good but its pacing may seem slow at some places. Marketing could have been focused on targeting a wider audience.
Technical Review
The work of Director Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy is good. Both of them are also its writers. In terms of writing they have done their work well. To make the story emotional, the character’s feelings have been expressed well. Production value and color grading are good. Its songs and music are good. Editing work is also fine.

Shastry Viruddh Shastry is a drama film in which the feelings of grandparents and grandchildren have been expressed. Its story is simple but also engaging. There is also Courtroom Drama, a part of which can be emotional. Actor’s performance is admirable. Its pacing is slow which may seem lengthy at some moments.
