Sukhee Movie: Story Review
This is the story of Sukhpreet “Sukhee” Kalra (Shilpa Shetty), a 38-year-old Punjabi housewife. Who, fed up with her daily life, wants to leave her family for some time and go to a college reunion in Delhi. Sukhee spent her childhood in Delhi city itself. From there she completed her college studies. She used to be one of the most favorite students of her college. Everyone was confident about Sukhee’s bright future. Sukhee falls in love with Guru (Chaitanya Choudhary). And both of them marry each other.
But Sukhee realizes after 20 years that she is trapped in household work. She also has the right to live life. She wants to go to college reunion with her 3 friends for 7 days. She wants to live and experience her old life again. Will she be able to go to Delhi? Will her family let Sukhee go? Now what will happen next will be known only after watching the film.
Sukhee Movie: Positive Review
Shilpa Shetty Kundra has played the role of a housewife in this film. She has tried to explain the topic of women empowerment well in the character of Sukhee. She has lived this character and hence her acting performance is the biggest asset of this film. Be it a comedy scene or an emotional scene, she has tried to show the real feeling of Sukhee. The story of friendship between 4 people seems like perfect chemistry. Because of this also the chances of watching the film increase. Shilpa Shetty has added Punjabi flavor to this film.
The story narration of this film is good. As it is shown that a woman gets tired of taking care of her husband, children and family members. This also gives the message that whether it is a man or a woman, everyone’s life is important. Everyone should get a chance to enjoy life. To fulfill your desire, money is not always important, sometimes time should also be given importance. Many good messages regarding women empowerment have been given in this film.
Chaitanya Choudhary has played the character of Sukhee’s husband Guru in this movie. His acting is amazing. When Guru goes to the shop with his daughter to buy a pad for the first time, this scene touches the heart of the audience and becomes relatable. The bond between father and daughter has been displayed quite well in that scene.
Many actors like Amit Sadh, Pavleen Gujral and Vinod Nagpal have played important characters in this movie. This film can make you feel that women are busy only in household work, they should also get a chance to enjoy their life.
Sukhee Movie: Negative Review
The topic written by Radhika Anand, Paulomi Dutta and Rupinder Inderjit of this film is very interesting. But there may be some shortcomings in storytelling. The topic of women empowerment discussed in this film seems confusing at many places. Sometimes it reminds of Sridevi’s older film English Vinglish, while in some scenes it reminds of Veere di Wedding. In some scenes, glimpses of Sridevi can be seen in Shilpa.
Sonal Joshi is the director of this film. She has presented the first half of this film well and an effort has been made to develop each character in detail. The topic of the story of this film starts to be understood but in the second half the story becomes so slow that somewhere it starts to feel like when will this film end. Due to the weak script, the audience seems uncomfortable in connecting and relating to its characters.
Sukhee Movie: Technical Review
This film is the story of 4 people. But the story of the remaining 3 characters has been ignored. This film seems lengthy in the second half. Looking at many scenes, it seems that the story and length of the film is being stretched. Even if a few minutes of the scene were cut, it probably wouldn’t have made any difference. The things that this story wants to convey to the audience are correct.
But in some scenes that topic is explained in the old manner. Had this been explained in a more realistic way, the audience would have been a little more engaged with the story. If we talk about music, the music of this film is okay but not very great.
Sukhee Movie Review: Conclusion
Shilpa Shetty has presented the character of Sukhee in a realistic way. Indian family and Punjabi flavor will be seen in this film. If both the parts are compared, then 1st half is quite good in comparison to 2nd half. The film may seem lengthy in a few minutes of the second half.
The story of 4 friends and the problems of a household wife has been shown in a decent manner. There are no brutal or vulgar scenes in this film. This is a family friendly film. You can watch this film with your entire family. In this, women empowerment topic has also been focused.
