The Great Indian Family: Review, Story, Cast and Plot

Vicky Kaushal’s new film The Great Indian Family has been released in theatres. This is a family comedy drama film. It can be seen that there is very little hype about this film among the audience. Such plots have been seen before also. But in today’s social political environment, recreating such a film is a brave choice. This film wants to give the message that all religions should be respected. Its producer is Aditya Chopra.

The Great Indian Family: Story and Plot Review

The plot of this film is based on a place called Balrampur. There are two Pandits in that city. One is Mishra ji, the other is Tripathi ji. The whole city respects Tripathi ji because of his good work. His son’s name is Ved Vyas who is known as Bhajan Kumar. He keeps organizing many bhajan programs in his city. That’s why he is also famous.

But in a situation it is revealed that Bhajan Kumar is a Muslim by birth. This news causes problems in their family, life and society. How does he handle this situation? This is the story of this film. Will Bhajan Kumar be accepted by his family? Will society accept Bhajan Kumar? Now what is going to happen next will be known only after watching the film.

The Great Indian Family: Positive Review

The cast selection of this film is good. Many great actors like Vicky Kaushal, Kumud Mishra, Yashpal Sharma and Manoj Pahwa can be seen in this film. Vicky Kaushal’s performance is quite funny. Innocence can be seen in his character. He has actually done a good job. Everyone gets connected and engaged with his character. The audience also starts feeling their emotions and feelings.

The real fun will come only after seeing Kumud Mishra and Manoj Pahwa. Kumud Mishra has played the role of a respectable pandit ji in it. His screen presence is very good. He looks so real in the character of Pandit that one feels as if a Pandit ji has appeared in front of him.

Manoj Pahwa’s character has also evolved well. When Kumud Mishra and Manoj are seen together, the charm of the other actor fades away. Yashpal Sharma also impresses in his character. The characters of Bhuvan Arora and Aashif Khan did not have much strength nor were they given a chance to explore their characters.

The most important element of any film is its writing. The writing of this film makes you laugh, cry, make you emotional, and also compels you to watch the further story. The writer and director of this movie is Vijay Krishna Acharya. He has also shown hard work in his work. The development of each character has been done at the right time.

The length of this film is 1 hrs 52 min. This is a straight forward and well composed film. It gets finished in less than 2 hours, this is its positive point. This film will not bore the audience. The message this movie wants to convey or its concept has been delivered well. There is a lot of focus on humanity. Dialogues are also impactful.

The Great Indian Family: Negative Review

Manushi Chhillar has played the character of Jasmeet in it. If we talk about her acting, then her acting performance is not that good. It is very difficult to relate to this character. Even if she was not in this film, it probably wouldn’t have made any difference. Vicky and Manushi’s love story is shown for a short period of time. Watching a song by both of them can feel very boring. Manushi’s getup and makeup do not make it seem that she is the heroine of this film.

While watching many scenes, it seems that the vibe of this film is artificial. The performance of all the characters is very good but the impression of that character is not that attractive. Perhaps the character cannot be remembered after the film is over. If anyone has seen this type of films then this is not a new film for them. He can easily predict the story of this film.

Direction, storytelling and music are decent. Direction could have been done a little better. The humor of this story is not that strong but an attempt is being made to show that everything should be taken in a positive aspect.

The Great Indian Family Review: Conclusion

Vicky Kaushal, Kumud Mishra and Manoj Pahwa have shown their best acting performance. Seeing this will bring both laughter and emotion. The story of this film will not let you get bored because it is a movie of less than 2 hours. If you also want to watch a good family drama comedy type film this week. So you can watch this film with your entire family. This is a family friendly film.
