Story and Plot
In this, the life and challenges of the teenager group have been explored. Apart from Archie and Veronica, there are many members in that group. In this, fictional hill stations of India are shown. There is a famous green park there. But a businessman wants to demolish that park and build a hotel. Archie and his friends like that park very much. Will Archie and his group be able to save the green park from being destroyed? The further story will be known in the film itself.
Positive Review
The Archies is an adaptation of the fictional comic Archie. Anyone who is a fan of Archie comic or who likes to read this comic may like this film. Entertainment factors like romance, comedy and jokes have been added to it.
Agastya Nanda has performed the character of Archie Andrews in a decent way. He has led this show. His character is that of a charming and confused boy who is charming and cute. Suhana Khan has played the character of Veronica Lodge. She plays this character in a very pure way. The role of Betty Cooper is played by Khushi Kapoor.
Friendship has been created in the beginning. The 1960’s scene has been well redeveloped. The set and costume design also fit prefectly. The filming locations are beautiful and have been used well.
Negative Review
Even better acting was expected from Khushi Kapoor but she could not make that much impact. The new actor has zero experience in terms of acting due to which he is not able to perform that well. They need to work harder. But the supporting cast has done a good job.
Screenplay and story telling may seem weak. This is an Indian adaptation of the comic but the Indian vibe is missing in it. There are Indian characters in it but it becomes difficult to relate to that character. There are also some characters who are not that impressive. There are many songs in it which are okay.
At some moments the plot becomes predictable and also feels lengthy. Its environment and atmosphere may also not seem that relatable. English language has also been used and the conversation in Hindi language could have been made more interesting.
Technical Review
Director Zoya Akhtar has chosen and presented a unique topic. The work of the writers is okay because they could have made the story more engaging and interesting. Production values are quite rich.
The shooting locations are also attractive. Set and visual effects are also good. Many songs, BGM and music are also good. Cinematography work done by Nikos Andritsakis really look awesome. Costume designer’s work is good.
The Archies Review: Conclusion
This is a musical comedy drama film in which the life of a group of teenagers is shown. The challenges of his life have also been shown. The story could have been presented by making it more interesting. Vulgar scenes and abusive words have not been used in this. Agastya Nanda and Suhana Khan performed well in lead roles. The excitement level could have been maintained even better. The 2nd half is better than the 1st half.
